Who is responsible for your data
Sirahan By Yusuf (org. no. 938 122 903), registered in Norway, is the data controller for the information described here, and handles it under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act. For any privacy question, reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your phone number (to sign you in).
- An optional display name, email address, and profile photo.
- Listings you post, including photos, descriptions, and an optional map location.
- Messages you send to other users through Sirahan, and listings you save.
- When you tap "Show seller phone" or send us a message through the contact form, we record the event with your IP address and device/browser.
- If you turn on notifications, a device token so we can send them.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- To run the marketplace, sign you in, and keep your account secure (performance of our agreement with you).
- To detect spam, fraud, and stolen-vehicle listings, keep the platform safe, answer your messages, and improve the product (our legitimate interest).
- To send notifications you have turned on (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning them off).
Who sees what
- Your phone number is shown to a buyer only when they tap "Show seller phone" on one of your listings.
- Your display name and listings are public.
- Messages are visible to you and the other person in the conversation, and to us if we need to investigate a report.
- We never sell your personal data to third parties.
Service providers we share data with
To run Sirahan we use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, only as needed to deliver the service:
- An SMS provider to send your login codes. Your phone number is shared with them for this.
- Cloud hosting, a database, and a content-delivery network, which store your data and process IP addresses to serve the site.
- Object storage for listing photos.
- An error-monitoring service that helps us fix crashes.
- A notifications provider, if you turn on notifications.
These providers are located outside the EEA (for example in the United States), so running Sirahan involves transferring personal data outside the EEA. Where that happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards; you can request a copy at [email protected].
Retention
Listings stay searchable until you remove them. We keep your account data while your account is active, and for a limited period after you delete it so we can investigate fraud or meet legal obligations. Sign-in codes and diagnostic logs are kept no longer than needed for those purposes.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and you can object to or ask us to restrict certain processing. You can edit your profile, mark listings sold, or remove listings yourself at any time, and you can delete your account from your profile. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no), or to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
Sirahan is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your language choice, and to remember which listings you've viewed (so we don't double-count). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
We may update this notice. If we make a significant change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
